Building Community

Dear Women of Noble Character Friends and Family,

Our motto here at Women of Noble Character is 'Feed the Body, Feed the Soul,' and that is exactly what has been our mission. For 14 years, we have been providing basic necessities on a daily basis for the homeless community here in Victorville. Our belief is that when you minister to someone’s physical needs, it opens the door to blessing them spiritually.

We have seen several success stories over the 14 years that we have been operating.

One example is 'Sherry,' whom we met about 12 years ago. She had been on drugs heavily for many years; however, in the last 12 years, we've known her, she has been through rehab (clean & sober for over five years), acquired a job as a sign holder, and worked her way up to a secure position at a local supermarket. She has thanked us repeatedly for the assistance (physically and spiritually) she received from us during her darkest time.

Another story is of a couple we met over 10 years ago, 'Frank and Gina,' who had been living in their car. With the help of our partners in the community, we were able to assist and support them back to self-sufficiency where they remain to this day.

In this past year, 2023, we have seen a growth in our services that is unprecedented, and though it makes our hearts glad that we have been able to assist more homeless citizens and families, it also saddens us that the need has increased so much. But our ability to rise to the need has been due to you, who have played an instrumental role in us accomplishing our mission through your support.

We look forward to all the people we will reach in 2024, physically and spiritually. We look forward to the doors that are opening that will allow us to help in even more productive ways thanks to you.

Will you consider today giving to support the rising need that is impacting our community? It may be $10, $25, $50, $100, or $1000. We thank you for continuing to be a part of what God is doing here.

If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Go in peace, be warmed and filled,' without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also, faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

James 2:15-16

Every day we strive to meet the daily needs of those who are suffering from a lack of what many of us take for granted (food, clothing, warmth). In a world that wants to ignore, we have been commissioned to treat others as we want to be treated, and there, but for the grace of God, goes me.

Will you help us to keep meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters? Will you help us to open more doors that will not only give them the fish but teach them how to fish for themselves?

Many blessings,

Rasiene Reece, Executive Director
